A fundraiser has been launched to support a Kilmarnock family who were left with nothing following a house fire.

The family saw their clothes, furniture and Christmas presents go up in smoke following the fire in Danny Coffey Avenue on Monday morning.

Neighbour Skye Jones has set up a fundraising page to get them back on their feet, which has raised almost £300 in just a few hours.

She told Ayrshire Today: "This morning my neighbour's house unfortunately went on fire. Due to this, she and her seven-year-old daughter have been left with absolutely nothing.

"Their clothes, furniture and Christmas presents have all been lost in the fire.

"I'm hoping we can all pull together and help raise funds to get them back on their feet, I couldn’t imagine being in this position myself, especially after Christmas."
