A busy road near Stewarton was closed for over four hours following a two car crash. 

Emergency services were called to the A735 between the town and Kilmaurs around 10am on Thursday morning. 

The road reopened around 2.30pm, and there are not thought to have been any serious injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 10am on Thursday, December 28, to a report of a two vehicle crash on the A735 at Stewarton.

“Emergency services attended and the road was closed. It re-opened around 2.30pm.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
