Two separate weather alerts are now in force across Ayrshire following overnight snowfall in the region.

Storm Gerrit is bringing severe weather across the country, and the Met Office has issued a series of yellow weather warnings.

One warning for rain and snow covers the northern half of the region including parts of North Ayrshire, and runs from 6am until 9pm on Wednesday.

A second warning for rain only covers the southern part of the region including South Ayrshire and runs from 3am to 6pm.
