A Kilmarnock nightclub has hailed a milestone weekend as it reopened to revellers for the first time in years.

Bakers Nite Club, in the town's Fowlds Street, closed at the start of the pandemic and failed to reopen as restrictions eased.

The popular venue reopened its doors on Thursday, December 14 with a DJ set from The View, before its regular club night on Friday and Saturday.

A spokesperson said: "What a weekend. We missed you Killie. It was amazing to see faces old and new. What a bunch of beautiful humans you are.

"Now that you’ve all been in and had a look you’ll notice the effort put in and on that note there’s a lot of people to thank for this.

"Firstly Jamie Ballantine from Lights 2 Ltd, Simon Payling from Smalltown Audio, Andy Lennon from A.L. Signs, Morgan Thom from Paint Bomb Painter & Decorator and Trinity Park Heating Solutions for keeping us warm with a new boiler.

"All the friends and family that were on call 24/7 to help when needed, we wouldn’t have been able to do it without you.

"The final thank you goes to all of our customers for coming back and supporting our wee club. It was genuinely beautiful seeing you all walk through the doors again."
