A budding young Ayrshire chef is celebrating after completing an apprenticeship programme designed to discover the next generation of hospitality talent.

Jose Linares, 26, graduated with a level five apprenticeship in Professional Cookery, after excelling at his job at popular Ayrshire bar and restaurant, Vic’s & The Vine.

During his two-year journey, Jose was guided by the support of his employer Buzzworks Holdings, which owns a number of restaurants across the region.

Jose said: "I'm delighted to have graduated my Professional Cookery Apprenticeship and feel the support from Buzzworks has really added to my learning experience, all whilst ensuring I get the time I need to relax and do the things I love.

“I'm really looking forward to learning even more over the coming years and can't wait to see where my Buzzworks career will take me."

The aspiring chef graduated at a glittering ceremony held at Trump Turnberry Hotel and Resort in Ayrshire last week.

Following the celebration, Jose was also given the highest marks for his culinary skills at an apprenticeship food showcase supported by Braehead Foods.

Holli Gordon, learning and development manager at Buzzworks, said: “Jose has been an excellent candidate for this programme for 16–24-year-olds, which provides an incredible learning experience for young people who want to get into the hospitality industry.

“We are incredibly proud of Jose and his outstanding achievement. His dedication, talent, and passion for cookery have shone brightly throughout his journey.

“Buzzworks is pleased to have been able to support him in his career aspirations and we are excited to see where his bright future with us takes him.”
